Amazon matches Apple's free iPod deal ($1000 MacBook Pro, latest model)

Apple has been giving away a free iPod Touch to students who buy an Apple laptop.  This was a really great deal, except that you are supposed to be a student, you need to deal with rebates, and you pay sales tax upfront.  Now Amazon offers a much simpler alternative:

• Add the MacBook Pro 13" and the iPod Touch 8GB to your cart, and get both for $1199.99 (a lower price than the education when you factor in sales tax).  The price will show up at checkout, and it works on other MacBook Pros).  Considering that you can sell the iPod for about $180 on Craigslist, this makes it a fantastic deal (~$1,000) for the latest Apple laptop!
