iWork for free!

Apple recently announced that its suite of business and personal applications would be free with a new computer purchase.  There is news that you can get iWork for free even if you have an older Mac.  This would save you $60.  The trick is to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), download a trial version of iWork, and then go to the App Store and update these applications for free.  This also works for Aperture, and a commenter at 9to5Mac mentioned it works for iLife too.

1Password software 50% off until tonight

1Password is a convenient program that stores all your passwords in an encrypted file, so that you don't have to scrounge around for that Excel spreadsheet or post-it notes or other ways of remembering your passwords.  Thanks to the Macworld expo this week, 1Password's maker AgileBits is selling 1Password for 50% off for all versions of its software from Windows to Mac to iPhone versions.  You can purchase 1Password through various app stores at that price, or you can go directly to AgileBits and purchase it for 50% and then use code MacPowerUsers for an additional 20% off.  All versions should get a free upgrade to version 4.

Adobe Photoshop and Premier Elements for less than $30 shipped

Newegg offers Adobe's Photoshop Elements 10 and Premier Elements 10 for around $30 shipped after discounts.  Photoshop Elements is the version of the industry's leading photo editing software targeted at consumers, and Premier Elements is movie editing software targeted at consumers.  To get this price, you need to enter promo codes EMCYTZT1414 and APRODD15, but to enter promo codes, you need to be signed up for their e-mail newsletter, which is pretty easy to do. This bundle sells for over $100 elsewhere, so it's a great deal!
