Lexar memory half off at Amazon

Amazon is selling Lexar memory cards at steep discounts today. I have lately got in the habit of keeping my pictures on the card for backup, just like in the good ol' film days.

Sony's NEX-6 camera for just $524

Amazon is selling Sony's very excellent mirrorless NEX-6 camera for just $524. This camera features an APS-C sized sensor, which I can attest takes great pictures. I highly recommend this camera, especially at this great price.

Nikon Digital SLR deals

Costco and Amazon currently have good prices on Nikon digital SLR cameras.  Amazon's promotion is $100-$250 off an additional lens.  Costco has a straight discount ($200) off its bundles of two of the most popular models, the D3100 and the D5100.  These bundles include an additional 200mm zoom lens, a carrying case, and an extra memory card.  In general the Amazon deal is better unless you value some of the other extras in the Costco bundles.

• D3100: Costco - $779.99 (plus sales tax) vs. Amazon - $733.47 (plus use tax)
• D5100: Costco - $1,099.99 (plus sales tax) vs. Amazon - $896.77 (plus use tax)

Canon SD1200IS for $114

What is it with digital cameras?  Is it because I am shopping for one or because that's where the good deals are these days?  Sears is selling the Canon SD1200IS for $149.  Combine their current 5% discount on digital cameras and 20% Bing cashback running at Sears (search for "lawn"), and you get this camera for $114 plus sales tax.  In-store pick up is free.  Normal price is $149, which itself is a price drop from the $170 before the holiday shopping season.

Many other good deals are to be had with the 20% back from Bing at Sears, so hurry while it lasts!
