$3 off LED lights: Make your Christmas tree greener with LED lights

(November 5 through 15)

Home Depot is having its second annual Christmas light amnesty program.  They are selling 50-bulb LED white Christmas lights for $6, and you get $3 off if you trade-in your incandescent Christmas lights for LEDs.  LED bulbs use about 80% less energy and last much longer.  There's a limit of 5 units of 50-light boxes per customer for the trade-in.

Home Depot will recycle your old Christmas lights, taking them apart and making sure they don't end up as landfill.  Also, don't forget that you can drop off your dead CFLs at Home Depot, which will recycle them (and the mercury in them) for you.
