Now is the time for Apple deals

Because of Apple's weird policy of keeping prices steady until they introduce a new product, the best time to buy comes about once a year: when a product is introduced and they discount old models and reduce prices on new ones.  In other words, today.

Amazon has reduced prices on previous generation MacBooks, with the best deals on the 13" models (the 13" polycarbonate ones at $900 have sold out).  These prices are down about $200 from yesterday and include free shipping:

• 13" Macbook Aluminum (faster), $1,294 (vs. $1,599)

Main differences between these and the latest models are slight speed bumps, a better screen, and a SD card slot.  You can also pre-order a new model today from Amazon for $100 more.
