In honor of upcoming Earth Day, check out the Smart Strip energy saving power strip for $26 (versus $40 at most other stores). This "smart" power strip cuts off power to devices when a main or "control" device (like a TV) is shut off. That saves a lot of electricity drawn by devices like monitors, printers, DVD players, game consoles, etc that consume significant amounts of electricity even in standby mode. For example, my printer draws 3 Watts in standby mode (26 KwH per year). Using the Smart Strip, I save $3 per year, which is a pretty good 10% return just for putting 1 device on the smart strip.
