Costco Amex offering $25 statement credit

American Express offers some of the best rewards credit cards, including the True Earnings Card (i.e. the Costco card).  There are 2 versions of this card -- Business and Consumer.

Currently, American Express is offering a sweetener: a $25 statement credit for the Consumer card.  This might be the better deal if you just use it for restaurants and don't travel much.  But I have recommended the business card over the consumer card because of the better rebate on gas (5% vs. 3%) and because of the OPEN discounts you get at places like Hertz and Hyatt.

Both credit cards require Costco membership and have cashback rewards in these categories:

• 5% for Gasoline (Business card), 3% for Gasoline (Consumer card)



• 3% for Restaurants



• 2% for Travel (hotels, airfare, etc)



• 1% for everything else
