(update: Citi started issuing the $30 rebate as 3 $10 certificates that require you to subscribe for several months, which means you can really only get $10 for free)
Although you can receive your credit report for free every year, you cannot view your credit score for free. Citibank offers a service called IdentityMonitor, which you can currently sign up for (and cancel with no charge within 30 days) and get $30 cashbank. As a bonus, you get to see your credit reports (and scores!) from all 3 credit reporting bureaus. To qualify:
- Click to http://www.identitymonitor.citi.com/index.aspx
- Click "Enroll"
- Copy and paste https://membership.identitymonitor.citi.com/popup1.htm into your browser
That's it! Look for the $30 bonus box in the bottom left.

I did this, and it is intersting to see my credit score. It also has a tool that estimates the effect of various moves (e.g. closing an acct) on one's score.
As for the $30, there is a delay in getting the (3 x $10) certificates and redeeming them, such that I could claim at most one $10 certificate before having to pay for the credit monitoring service for one month. I'd say if your motivation is the $30, it's not worth the hassle.
Thanks for pointing this out--it was in fact a recent change (I also got the 3 x $10), since a few weeks earlier you would have gotten just a $30 one. I've updated the post to reflect that.
One thing to note is that this deal is "churnable" -- you can do it over and over again!
